THE WAY WE WORK TOGETHER...

"WHAT WILL YOU DO FOR MY PROJECT?"

To help you understand what's involved in a project from a copywriter's standpoint,
I'd like to share the following proposal from Bob Bly, author of two excellent books --
The Copywriter's Handbook and Selling Your Services.

"The job as I understand it is to write a 6- to 8-page brochure designed to sell
ABC Widgets. For this fee, I will:

To add to his list, I would also include the following services:

"WHAT WILL IT COST?"

Because every client is unique and every project different, I prefer to prepare a personal
estimate for your specific project. To me, that's more effective than to simply list a "flat rate" price sheet.

Just call or email me with the basic information about your proposed project, answer a few
more questions from me, and you can expect an official estimate within 24-48 hours.
As a professional, I provide all documentation (estimates & invoices) in a simple but
detailed format. You can receive these documents immediately by fax, electronically by email,
or request that a hard copy be mailed to you.

Prices vary depending on the amount of copy needed, the level of complexity and degree
of my involvement. In other words, if you provide me with a clear, decisive direction right up front,
plus generous access to information and contacts -- it will take me fewer hours and cost you less.

"CAN YOU MEET MY DEADLINES?"

Under ideal conditions, I prefer to have some input in setting the deadline schedule.
I pride myself on never having missed a deadline -- even under extremely unreasonable demands.
In fact, I usually provide the copy ahead of schedule in most cases. However, the more advance
notice you can give me -- the better quality creative you can expect.

No matter how fast I may write, it still takes time for a project to fully develop. Sometimes we'll
discover a completely new approach or alternative that will be more effective than the original plan.
And we both want the best possible solution to your communications challenge!

I understand that projects can come up quickly and deadlines can sneak up on you.
All I ask is that you let me know as early as possible when you expect this job to land
on my desk. Then I can get other projects in order and clear my workload to focus my
attention on your hot job.

"WILL I BE SATISFIED WITH YOUR WORK?"

I believe you will. In fact, I'll even GUARANTEE it. If we've worked as a team on your project,
we'll both be satisfied with the result. And I want to hear about it! Because I rely on client feedback
to improve my services, I like to be included even after my phase of the project is complete.

Let me see the finished product and hear comments from your customers and employees.
Most importantly, tell me how I could improve our business relationship for your next project.

Don't just take my word for it. Read testimonials from satisfied clients!
